EMPYRÉE CAHORS 2005 Domaine Le Bout de Lieu

Puntaje: 91,5

Rojo bermellón con pronunciado borde rubí. Brillante.
Complejo, de muy buena fineza. Cueros, hongos fragantes.

Score: 91.5

Bright vermilion-red in color with a pronounced ruby rim.

Complex and beautifully refined, the nose reveals fragrant leather and earthy mushroom aromas.

The palate is driven by vibrant acidity, while the tannins are fully resolved and seamlessly integrated. The wine has evolved entirely into its tertiary phase, with the oak now completely fused with what were once its fruit characteristics. Complex and elegant, although it has moved beyond its peak. Mushroom notes dominate the palate, while a delicate animal nuance emerges on the retronasal finish. Medium- to full-bodied with a very long, persistent finish.

It is remarkable how well this wine has endured after extended bottle aging.
